Pretty great little receiver

By Flounder Lee “photoflounder”
I picked this up about a year ago for use mainly with my HTC excalibur cell phone (Tmobile Dash). It acquires a signal quickly in almost every setting. The only time I cam recall having an issue was in NYC, getting on and off the subway and with the buildings, it would take a long time to get a good lock. I have no experience with other gps so don’t know if that is normal for a city like that. In downtown LA it didn’t have the same problem.
I use this for geotagging my photographs. I keep it in my pocket getting in and out of cars, going into gas stations, etc and it almost always keeps a good lock, at least enough to not time out on the windows mobile app I use.

The battery life is great, I’ve only drained it completely once in a year. I generally use it an entire day and charge it at night, but I’ve used it more than one day without charging before. It accepts a standard mini-usb plug for charging (but not for data).
I have also used it connected to my laptop via the cheapest bluetooth dongle known to man and it worked just fine.
Aside from the issues in NYC, the only other complaint I have is that you cannot share the signal with more than one device at once. I’m not sure if this is inherent in bluetooth or not, but I see no reason a one way communication device such as this couldn’t be used on a laptop and phone at the same time.
